दध्नः सोम्य मथ्यमानस्य योऽणिमा स ऊर्ध्वः समुदीषति तत्सर्पिर्भवति ॥ १ ॥

अन्वय
सोम्य, मथ्यमानस्य दध्नः यः अणिमा [अस्ति], सः ऊर्ध्वः समुदीषति; तत् सर्पिः भवति ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
“प्रिय, जब दही मथा जाता है, उसका जो सूक्ष्म सार है, वह ऊपर उठता है और मक्खन बन जाता है।”
English meaning
“My dear, when curd is churned, its subtle essence rises upward and becomes butter.”
व्याख्या
सर्पिस् मक्खन या घृत के लिए प्रयुक्त होता है; मथने के तात्कालिक प्रसंग में मक्खन कहा गया है। अणिमा सूक्ष्मता या सूक्ष्म सार है, आधुनिक परमाणु का तकनीकी नाम नहीं।
Explanation
