Passage 55.1
English meaning
One should contemplate the mind as Brahman: this is the inward, personal aspect. On the divine-cosmic side, one should contemplate space as Brahman. Thus both aspects, inward and divine-cosmic, have been taught.
Explanation
Adhyātma here means the aspect within the person, not merely spirituality in general. Adhidaivata is the divine or cosmic aspect. The second statement carries over the first statement’s instruction to contemplate, which the translation makes explicit.
Context
A new contemplation takes Brahman through the paired perspectives of mind and space.
