यो ह वा आयतनं वेदायतनँ ह स्वानां भवति मनो ह वा आयतनम् ॥ ५ ॥

अन्वय
यः ह वा आयतनम् वेद, [सः] ह स्वानाम् आयतनम् भवति । मनः ह वा आयतनम् [अस्ति] ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
जो आयतन को जानता है, वह अपने लोगों का आश्रय बनता है। मन ही आयतन है।
English meaning
One who knows the dwelling place becomes a shelter for their own people. Mind is that dwelling place.
व्याख्या
आयतन ठहरने का स्थान या आश्रय है। विभिन्न अनुभवों को ग्रहण करने वाला मन इस रूपक का केन्द्र बनता है; अभी उसे प्राण से स्वतंत्र सर्वोच्च सत्ता नहीं कहा गया है।
Explanation
Āyatana means an abode or supporting place. Mind becomes the focus because experiences find a place there; it has not yet been declared an ultimate power independent of vital breath.
