English meaning
Contemplating the Sāman in its entirety is indeed good. What is good is called sāman, and what is not good is called asāman.
Explanation
Sādhu here means good or fitting, not a holy person. The semantic association between sāman and goodness establishes the basis of the contemplation.
Context
The second adhyāya begins contemplation of the Sāman as a whole, first connecting the word with what is good, beneficial and conciliatory.
