English meaning
One should now contemplate the seven-part Sāman as equal in its own measure and as going beyond death. Hiṅkāra has three syllables, and prastāva has three syllables: they are equal.
व्याख्या
आत्मसंमितम् का आशय यहाँ साम के अपने अंगों की समता से लिया गया है। अक्षर ध्वन्यात्मक syllable है, लिखित वर्णों की आधुनिक गणना नहीं।
Explanation
Ātmasaṃmitam is read here as equality among the chant’s own portions. Akṣara means a spoken syllable, not a modern count of written characters.
संदर्भ
सात साम-अंगों के नामों में अक्षरों की गणना करके समता और मृत्यु के अतिक्रमण की उपासना बताई जाती है।
Context
The syllables in the names of the seven chant portions are counted in a contemplation of equality and passage beyond death.
