Explanation
Hāu, hāi, atha, iha and ī are sounds employed in the chant. The suffix -kāra names the utterance of a sound. These are correspondences for contemplation, not dictionary claims that hāu means earth or hāi means wind. Atha and iha also have ordinary Sanskrit uses, but here they are being treated as stobhas.
Context
After the major portions of the chant, the text turns to contemplation of stobha sounds used in Sāman singing. The first five are related to the world, wind, moon, self and fire.
