ब्रह्मवादिनो वदन्ति यद्वसूनां प्रातः सवनꣳरुद्राणां माध्यन्दिनꣳसवनमादित्यानां च विश्वेषां च देवानां तृतीयसवनम् ॥ १ ॥

ब्रह्म पर विचार करने वाले कहते हैं: प्रातःकालीन सवन वसुओं का है, मध्याह्न का सवन रुद्रों का है और तीसरा सवन आदित्यों तथा विश्वेदेवों का है।
English meaning
Those who discuss sacred knowledge say: the morning Soma pressing belongs to the Vasus, the midday pressing to the Rudras, and the third pressing to the Ādityas and the All-gods.
व्याख्या
सवन सोम को दबाने और उससे सम्बन्धित यज्ञ-अवसर का नाम है। इस अनुच्छेद का कथन अगले प्रश्न की भूमिका है; यजमान का स्थान अभी नहीं बताया गया।
Explanation
