पुरा तृतीयसवनस्योपाकरणाज्जघनेनाहवनीयस्योदङ्मुख उपविश्य स आदित्यꣳस वैश्वदेवꣳ सामाभिगायति ॥ ११ ॥

तीसरे सवन के आरम्भ से पहले वह आहवनीय अग्नि के पीछे उत्तर की ओर मुख करके बैठता है। वह आदित्यों का साम और विश्वेदेवों का साम गाता है।
English meaning
Before the third pressing begins, he sits behind the Āhavanīya fire, facing north. He sings the Sāman of the Ādityas and the Sāman of the All-gods.
व्याख्या
तीसरे सवन में दो देवसमूह हैं, इसलिए आगे दो गान आते हैं। आहवनीय अग्नि का नाम और उत्तरमुख स्थिति अलग-अलग सुरक्षित हैं।
