तेन तꣳ ह बको दाल्भ्यो विदाञ्चकार । स ह नैमिशीयानामुद्गाता बभूव स ह स्मैभ्यः कामानागायति ॥ १३ ॥

हिन्दी अर्थ
बक दाल्भ्य ने इसी प्रकार उसे जाना। वे नैमिषीयों के उद्गाता बने और उनके लिए उनकी इच्छाओं की पूर्ति के उद्देश्य से गायन करते थे।
English meaning
Baka Dālbhya understood it in this way. He became the udgātṛ for the people of Naimiṣa and would sing for the fulfilment of their wishes.
व्याख्या
उद्गाता सामगान करने वाला विशिष्ट ऋत्विज् है। स्म के साथ आगायति का प्रयोग अभ्यस्त या बार-बार होने वाली क्रिया का भाव देता है। कामान् आगायति इच्छाओं के लिए गाने को कहता है; अनुवाद इसे किसी आधुनिक सिद्ध की चमत्कारी सेवा का प्रचार नहीं बनाता।
Explanation
The udgātṛ is the officiant responsible for Sāman singing. With sma, āgāyati conveys customary or repeated activity. Singing desires means singing toward their fulfilment; the passage should not become an advertisement for present-day miraculous services.
