स यदि यजुष्टो रिष्येद्भुवः स्वाहेति दक्षिणाग्नौ जुहुयाद्यजुषामेव तद्रसेन यजुषां वीर्येण यजुषां यज्ञस्य विरिष्टꣳ सन्दधाति ॥ ५ ॥

सः यदि [यज्ञः] यजुष्टः रिष्येत्, भुवः स्वाहा इति दक्षिणाग्नौ जुहुयात् । तत् यजुषाम् एव रसेन, यजुषाम् वीर्येण, यजुषाम् यज्ञस्य विरिष्टम् सन्दधाति ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
यदि यजुर्मन्त्रों की ओर से क्षति हो, तो “भुवः स्वाहा” कहकर दक्षिणाग्नि में आहुति दे। इस तरह यजुर्मन्त्रों के ही रस से, यजुर्मन्त्रों के वीर्य से, यजुर्मन्त्रों से सम्बन्धित यज्ञ की क्षति को जोड़ता है।
English meaning
If damage occurs on the side of the yajus formulas, one should offer into the southern fire with “Bhuvaḥ, svāhā.” In this way, with the essence of the formulas, with their potency, one repairs the damage to the sacrifice in its formula-related part.
व्याख्या
यहाँ “भुवः” और दक्षिणाग्नि का मेल है, पहले मन्त्र के “भूः” और गार्हपत्य का नहीं। समान वाक्य-विन्यास में बदलते इन पदों को सुरक्षित रखना अनुष्ठान के भेद को स्पष्ट करता है।
Explanation
The pairing here is bhuvaḥ with the southern fire, not the previous bhūḥ with the Gārhapatya. Preserving the changing terms within the repeated structure keeps the ritual distinctions clear.
