English meaning
Through it the threefold sacred knowledge is put into practice: with OM one calls for attention, with OM one recites praise, and with OM one sings the udgītha. These acts honour this very syllable for its greatness and essential significance.
व्याख्या
त्रयी विद्या यहाँ ऋक्, यजुस् और साम से सम्बद्ध वैदिक अनुष्ठान-ज्ञान है। अपचित्यै सम्मान के लिए है; इसे अपचय या क्षय समझना गलत होगा। वाक्य अनुष्ठान की साझा ध्वनि को उसी रस-क्रम से जोड़ता है जिसे खण्ड के आरम्भ में समझाया गया था।
Explanation
The threefold knowledge concerns the ritual traditions of ṛc, yajus and Sāman. Apacityai means for honour or reverence, not diminution. The sentence connects the common ritual syllable with the sequence of essences established earlier in the section.
संदर्भ
ओम् की सहमति-सूचक भूमिका के बाद उसकी वैदिक अनुष्ठान में व्यापक उपस्थिति बताई जाती है। तीन क्रियाएँ सुनने का आह्वान, स्तुति-पाठ और गायन हैं।
Context
After its role as assent, OM is presented as pervasive in Vedic ritual. The three activities named are calling for attention, reciting praise and singing.
