यदाप उच्छुष्यन्ति वायुमेवापियन्ति वायुर्ह्येवैतान्सर्वान्संवृङ्क्त इत्यधिदैवतम् ॥ २ ॥

यदा आपः उच्छुष्यन्ति, [तदा] वायुम् एव अपियन्ति । हि वायुः एव एतान् सर्वान् संवृङ्क्ते । इति अधिदैवतम् ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
“जब जल सूखता है, वह वायु में ही चला जाता है। वायु ही इन सबको अपने में समेट लेती है। यह देवताओं और बाहरी जगत् की दृष्टि से कहा गया।”
English meaning
“When waters dry up, they pass into air. Air gathers all these into itself. This is the account with reference to the deities.”
व्याख्या
अधिदैवतम् आगे आने वाले अध्यात्मम् से जुड़ी तकनीकी जोड़ी का पहला पद है। एक ही शिक्षण को बाहर के तत्त्वों और व्यक्ति के भीतर की क्रियाओं के दो स्तरों पर रखा जाता है।
Explanation
Adhidaivatam is the first half of a technical pairing with adhyātmam. The teaching will be considered both in external powers and in the activities of the individual.
