English meaning
This is its perceptible sign: by touching the body one recognizes its warmth. This is its audible sign: closing both ears, one hears something like a resonance, a rumbling, or a blazing fire. One should contemplate it as seen and heard. One who knows this becomes pleasing to behold and renowned; one who knows this.
Explanation
Dṛṣṭi here is a perceptible sign rather than sight alone, since the example involves touch. Cakṣuṣyaḥ and śrutaḥ are rendered as pleasing to behold and renowned, not as cures for visual or hearing conditions. The form nadathuḥ is syntactically difficult; its sound-related sense is retained with a review flag.
Context
Bodily warmth and the sound heard with the ears closed are offered as signs of the inward light.
