आदित्प्रत्नस्य रेतसः । उद्वयन्तमसस्परि ज्योतिः पश्यन्त उत्तरꣳस्वः पश्यन्त उत्तरं देवं देवत्रा सूर्यमगन्म ज्योतिरुत्तममिति ज्योतिरुत्तममिति ॥ ७ ॥

“तब निश्चय ही उस प्राचीन बीज का…”। “हम अन्धकार के पार ऊपर की ज्योति देखते हुए, ऊपर के स्वर्लोक का प्रकाश देखते हुए, देवों के बीच देव सूर्य तक पहुँचे, सर्वोच्च ज्योति तक पहुँचे”, सर्वोच्च ज्योति तक पहुँचे।
English meaning
“Then indeed, of that ancient seed…” “Rising beyond darkness, beholding the higher light, beholding the higher heavenly radiance, we have reached the Sun, the god among the gods, the highest light”, the highest light.
व्याख्या
आदित्प्रत्नस्य रेतसः एक अधूरा उद्धरण है, इसलिए अनुवाद में भी अधूरापन दिखाया गया है; बाहर से पूरा मन्त्र जोड़कर स्रोत नहीं बढ़ाया गया। आत् इत् का विच्छेद सम्भावित है और इसकी वैदिक व्याख्या भिन्न हो सकती है। दूसरे उद्धरण में ऊपर की ज्योति और स्वः की दोनों पंक्तियाँ, तथा अन्त का दोहराव, सुरक्षित हैं।
Explanation
Ādit pratnasya retasaḥ is an abbreviated quotation, so the translation marks it as incomplete rather than importing the rest of a hymn. The analysis āt it is provisional and admits different Vedic interpretations. The second quotation retains both the higher-light and svaḥ phrases and the closing repetition.
