English meaning
When the person eats, drinks and enjoys, those experiences correspond to the Upasad rites.
Explanation
Upasad names preparatory rites of the Soma sacrifice. Eti is understood as entering into correspondence with them, rather than merely walking toward them. Eating, drinking and enjoyment answer the three privations in the preceding unit.
Context
After privations are identified with consecration, satisfaction and enjoyment receive their ritual counterpart.
