English meaning
If someone asks him, “If everything is contained in this city of Brahman, including all beings and all desires, what remains of it when it grows old or is destroyed?”
Explanation
The question tests the identification of the body with the city of Brahman. All beings and all desires remain explicit; the answer will distinguish the perishable dwelling from the imperishable self.
Context
A second question concerns bodily destruction and the reality said to dwell within.
