यथेह क्षुधिता बाला मातरं पर्युपासत एवँ सर्वाणि भूतान्यग्निहोत्रमुपासत इत्यग्निहोत्रमुपासत इति ॥ ५ ॥

यथा इह क्षुधिताः बालाः मातरम् पर्युपासते, एवम् सर्वाणि भूतानि अग्निहोत्रम् उपासते इति; अग्निहोत्रम् उपासते इति ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
“जैसे यहाँ भूखे बच्चे अपनी माँ के चारों ओर बैठकर उसकी प्रतीक्षा करते हैं, वैसे ही सभी प्राणी अग्निहोत्र की प्रतीक्षा करते हैं, अग्निहोत्र की प्रतीक्षा करते हैं।”
English meaning
“As hungry children here gather around their mother and wait upon her, so all beings wait upon the Agnihotra, wait upon the Agnihotra.”
व्याख्या
उपासते में निकट बैठना, आश्रय लेना और प्रतीक्षा करना जुड़े हैं। सब प्राणी अन्न-यज्ञ पर आश्रित बच्चों के समान दिखाए जाते हैं; दोहराया अन्तिम पद समापन को बल देता है।
Explanation
Upāsate combines sitting near, relying upon and waiting upon. All beings are pictured like children dependent on the food-offering, and the repeated final phrase marks closure.
