तꣳ हाभ्युवाद रैक्वेदꣳ सहस्रं गवामयं निष्कोऽयमश्वतरीरथ इयं जायायं ग्रामो यस्मिन्नास्सेऽन्वेव मा भगवः शाधीति ॥ ४ ॥

हिन्दी अर्थ
उसने कहा: “रैक्व, ये एक हजार गायें हैं, यह निष्क है, यह खच्चरियों वाला रथ है, यह पत्नी बनने के लिए मेरी पुत्री है, और यह वह गाँव है जिसमें आप रहते हैं। भगवन्, मुझे अवश्य उपदेश दीजिए।”
English meaning
He said, “Raikva, here are a thousand cows, this niṣka, this mule-drawn carriage, this woman as a wife, and the village in which you live. Sir, please instruct me.”
व्याख्या
इयं जाया का सम्बन्ध पिछले अनुच्छेद में आई पुत्री से है। पाठ उसकी सहमति का वर्णन नहीं करता; अनुवाद उस अनुपस्थित जानकारी को जोड़ता नहीं है। विनयपूर्ण आग्रह के साथ सम्पत्ति और सम्बन्धों का सामाजिक प्रसंग भी बना रहता है।
Explanation
“This woman as a wife” refers to the daughter introduced in the previous unit. Her consent is not narrated, and no such information is invented. The request for instruction remains embedded in an ancient arrangement of property and kinship.
