अथ यान्यष्टाचत्वारिꣳशद्वर्षाणि तत्तृतीयसवनमष्टाचत्वारिꣳशदक्षरा जगती जागतं तृतीयसवनं तदस्यादित्या अन्वायत्ताः प्राणा वावादित्या एते हीदꣳसर्वमाददते ॥ ५ ॥

हिन्दी अर्थ
फिर उसके जीवन के जो अगले अड़तालीस वर्ष हैं, वे उसका तृतीय सवन हैं। जगती अड़तालीस अक्षरों वाली है और तृतीय सवन जगती से सम्बद्ध है। उसके इस सवन से आदित्य जुड़े हैं। प्राण ही आदित्य हैं, क्योंकि वे ही इस समस्त जगत् को ग्रहण करते हैं।
English meaning
The next forty-eight years of life are the third pressing. Jagatī has forty-eight syllables, and the third pressing belongs to Jagatī. The Ādityas are associated with this pressing. The vital powers are the Ādityas, for they take all this to themselves.

वर्षों की संख्या छन्द के अक्षरों से मिलायी गयी है। तीनों चरण 24 + 44 + 48 = 116 वर्ष का आदर्श जीवन बनाते हैं। आदित्य और ग्रहण करते हैं का सम्बन्ध वैदिक शब्दार्थ-ध्यान है, आधुनिक वैज्ञानिक व्युत्पत्ति या जीवनावधि की गारंटी नहीं।
