Passage 5.3
English meaning
Now, in relation to oneself: one should contemplate this principal breath as the udgītha, for it proceeds sounding OM.
Explanation
Adhyātmam marks the perspective of one’s own embodied life. The principal prāṇa is not reduced to an audible breathing noise; it is also the vital support of other faculties. Sounding OM establishes a contemplative correspondence between sun and breath, rather than asserting that every breath audibly articulates OM.
Context
The solar identification concerning the deities receives an inward counterpart in the principal life-breath.
