English meaning
The two lived as disciplined students for thirty-two years. Prajāpati asked, “Desiring what have you two stayed here?” They answered, “Sir, people report this statement of yours: ‘The self that is free from evil, aging, death, sorrow, hunger, and thirst, whose desires are true and whose intentions are true, is to be sought and understood. Whoever discovers and knows that self obtains all worlds and all objects of desire.’ It is in search of that self that we have stayed.”
