सेयं देवतैक्षत हन्ताहमिमास्तिस्रो देवता अनेन जीवेनात्मनानुप्रविश्य नामरूपे व्याकरवाणीति ॥ २ ॥

सा इयम् देवता, हन्त अहम् इमाः तिस्रः देवताः अनेन जीवेन आत्मना अनुप्रविश्य नामरूपे व्याकरवाणि इति ऐक्षत ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
“उस देवता ने विचार किया, ‘अच्छा, मैं इस जीवस्वरूप आत्मा के द्वारा इन तीन देवताओं में प्रवेश करके नाम और रूप को अलग-अलग प्रकट करूँ।’”
English meaning
“That deity considered, ‘Come, let me enter these three deities through this living self and differentiate name and form.’”
व्याख्या
देवता यहाँ पिछले तीन तत्त्वों की दैवी संज्ञा है। जीवेन आत्मना के सम्बन्ध को स्वयं जीव बनकर या जीवात्मा के माध्यम से पढ़ा जा सकता है। अनुवाद किसी एक बाद की आत्मा-ईश्वर सम्बन्ध-व्यवस्था को अनिवार्य नहीं करता।
Explanation
The three deities are the previously named elements in their divine aspect. Jīvena ātmanā can be read as entering as the living self or through that self. The wording does not impose one later system of relations between individual self and ultimate reality.
