तद्व्यक्षरत्तदादित्यमभितोऽश्रयत्तद्वा एतद्यदेतदादित्यस्य रोहितꣳरूपम् ॥ ४ ॥

अन्वय
तत् व्यक्षरत्; तत् आदित्यम् अभितः अश्रयत् । यत् एतत् आदित्यस्य रोहितम् रूपम् [अस्ति], तत् वा एतत् [अस्ति] ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
वह रस बह निकला और आदित्य के चारों ओर जा टिका। वही आदित्य का यह लाल रूप है।
English meaning
That essence flowed out and settled around the sun. It is this red appearance of the sun.
व्याख्या
यहाँ लाल रंग को अभी वर्णित वैदिक रस का दृश्य रूप कहा गया है। पाठ हर दिशा के लिए अलग रूप रखता है; इसे केवल सूर्य के सामान्य प्रकाश में विलीन नहीं किया गया है।
Explanation
The red appearance is identified with the Vedic essence just described. Each direction has a differentiated visible form rather than merely a generic reference to sunlight.
