Passage 43.4
English meaning
For as long as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, that person attains the dominion and self-rule of the Vasus.
Explanation
The solar movement belongs to the divine timescale of the honey teaching, not a straightforward report of ordinary daily observation. Ādhipatya denotes lordship, while svārājya denotes independent rule. This establishes the initial duration that later passages double.
Context
The reward of participation among the Vasus is measured by a particular directional course of the sun.
