तस्मिन्नेतस्मिन्नग्नौ देवा वर्षं जुह्वति तस्या आहुतेरन्नँ सम्भवति ॥ २ ॥

अन्वय
तस्मिन् एतस्मिन् अग्नौ देवाः वर्षम् जुह्वति । तस्याः आहुतेः अन्नम् सम्भवति ।

इसी अग्नि में देवता वर्षा की आहुति देते हैं। उस आहुति से अन्न उत्पन्न होता है।
English meaning
Into this very fire the gods offer rain. From that offering arises food.
व्याख्या
वर्षा से अन्न तक का रूपान्तरण पञ्चाग्नि-शिक्षा की क्रमिक कड़ी है। देवता यज्ञकर्ता हैं; बाहरी अनुष्ठान के शब्द विश्व और जीवन के सम्बन्ध समझाने के लिए प्रयुक्त हैं।
