English meaning
For one who wishes, “May my son be born learned, renowned, able to enter assemblies, and a speaker whose words people wish to hear; may he recite all the Vedas and live a full lifespan,” the ancient text tells the couple to have rice cooked with meat and eat it with ghee. It claims that they will be able to produce such a son. The meat is specified as that of a young bull or a mature bull.
Explanation
Mamsaudana and the bovine terms are not replaced by fruit or plant foods. They refer to animal flesh in this ancient ritual. The asserted connection between diet and a child’s qualities is historical, not advice for imitation or medical guidance.
