English meaning
As a grass-leech reaches the end of a blade, takes hold of another support and then draws itself together, so this self leaves this body, renders it insensible, takes hold of another support and draws itself together.
Explanation
Here “bringing into unawareness” concerns the abandoned body, not acquiring liberating knowledge. The creature’s identification varies in translation; the image turns on taking a new support and drawing itself over.
Context
Movement from one blade to another illustrates taking up a further embodiment.
