यस्मिन् पञ्च पञ्चजना आकाशश्च प्रतिष्ठितः । तमेव मन्य आत्मानं विद्वान् ब्रह्मामृतोऽमृतम् ॥ १७ ॥

हिन्दी अर्थ
जिसमें पाँच पञ्चजन और आकाश प्रतिष्ठित हैं, उसी अमृत ब्रह्म को जानकर मैं अपने आत्मा के रूप में मानता हूँ और अमृत होता हूँ।
English meaning
In which the five groups called panchajana and space are established, that immortal brahman I recognize as the Self, knowing it and being immortal.
व्याख्या
पञ्च पञ्चजनाः का अर्थ परम्पराओं में विवादित है; इसे बिना सूचना पच्चीस सांख्य तत्त्व कहना उचित नहीं। अगले श्लोक की प्राण आदि शक्तियाँ इसकी एक व्याख्यात्मक दिशा देती हैं।
Explanation
The expression pancha panchajanah has disputed interpretations. It should not silently become the twenty-five principles of Sankhya. The following verse’s vital and cognitive powers offer one interpretive direction.
