यत्किञ्च विजिज्ञास्यं मनसस्तद्रूपम् । मनो हि विजिज्ञास्यम् । मन एनं तद्भूत्वावति ॥ ९ ॥

हिन्दी अर्थ
जो कुछ जानने की इच्छा का विषय है, वह मन का रूप है, क्योंकि मन जिज्ञासा का क्षेत्र है। मन वही रूप होकर इस जानने वाले की रक्षा करता है।
English meaning
Whatever is an object of inquiry is a form of mind, for mind is the field of inquiry. Becoming that form, mind protects the knower.
व्याख्या
विजिज्ञास्य उस विषय का नाम है जिसे स्पष्ट जानना बाकी है और जिसे जानने की इच्छा है। मन को उस खोज के साथ जोड़ा गया है, न कि केवल अनिर्णय या भ्रम के साथ।
Explanation
Vijijnasya is what one wishes to understand clearly but has not yet fully determined. Mind is linked to that search, not merely to indecision or confusion.
