पृथिव्यै चैनमग्नेश्च दैवी वागाविशति । सा वै दैवी वाग्यया यद्यदेव वदति तत्तद्भवति ॥ १८ ॥

हिन्दी अर्थ
पृथिवी और अग्नि से दिव्य वाणी उसमें प्रवेश करती है। दिव्य वाणी वह है जिससे जो कुछ कहा जाता है, वही होता है।
English meaning
Divine speech enters him from earth and fire. Divine speech is that through which whatever is said comes to pass.
व्याख्या
यह वाणी की अप्रतिहत प्रभावशीलता की धार्मिक कल्पना है। पाठक के बोले हुए हर वाक्य से वास्तविक घटनाएँ बदलने की गारंटी नहीं दी जा रही। पृथिवी-अग्नि का सम्बन्ध पहले के वाणी-रूप को दोहराता है।
Explanation
This is a religious image of speech’s unhindered efficacy, not a guarantee that every utterance by a reader changes events. Earth and fire recall the earlier cosmic form of speech.
