English meaning
This thunder is honey for all beings, and all beings are honey for this thunder. The radiant, immortal person in this thunder and the radiant, immortal person within the individual as sound and vocal tone are this very Self. This is the immortal; this is Brahman; this is everything.
Explanation
Shabda refers to sound more generally, while sauvara concerns vocal tone in particular. The pairing connects external thunder with inward voice; simply rendering both as hearing would erase the contrast with the earlier hearing passage. Honey is a metaphor for reciprocal nourishment and essence.
Context
Lightning is followed by thunder and the individual power of sound and voice.
