English meaning
This is the honey teaching that Dadhyanch Atharvana told the two Ashvins. Seeing this, the seer said: “Ashvins, you fitted a horse’s head to Dadhich Atharvana. Following truth and sacred order, he spoke to you that honey teaching belonging to Tvashtar, wonder-working ones, which was to be kept secret for you.”
Explanation
Dadhyanch and Dadhich are forms of the same seer’s name. Tvashtra is retained as a relation to Tvashtar without importing further episodes absent from this passage. Ritayan conveys following truth or sacred order.
