तदर्थ एव दृश्यस्यात्मा ।। २.२१ ।।

दृश्यस्य आत्मा तत्-अर्थः एव [अस्ति] ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
दृश्य का स्वरूप उसी द्रष्टा के प्रयोजन के लिए है।
English meaning
The nature of the seen exists precisely for the purpose of that seer.
प्रसंग
द्रष्टा की परिभाषा के बाद दृश्य का उसके अनुभव और मुक्ति से संबंध फिर स्पष्ट होता है।
सरल व्याख्या
‘आत्मा’ यहाँ दृश्य की प्रकृति या स्वरूप का पद है; हर प्रयोग में उसका अर्थ पुरुष नहीं होता।
Context
After defining the seer, the text returns to the seen's relation to experience and release.
Simple explanation
Here atman denotes the nature of the seen; the term does not mean purusha in every occurrence.
