Passage 26.13
English meaning
As a solid mass of salt, without an inner or outer division, is entirely a mass of taste, so this Self, without an inner or outer division, is entirely a mass of awareness. Arising from these elements, it disappears along with them. Dear one, I say that after departure there is no separate recognition. So Yajnavalkya spoke.
Explanation
The absence of recognition provokes the next objection. “Separate” is an interpretive clarification in light of the ensuing indestructibility of the Self; the line should not be assumed to assert total annihilation of consciousness without discussion.
Context
The uniform salt-mass illustrates undivided awareness.
