मनो वै ग्रहः । स कामेनातिग्रहेण गृहीतः । मनसा हि कामान् कामयते ॥ ७ ॥

अन्वय
वै मनः ग्रहः [अस्ति] । सः कामेन अतिग्रहेण गृहीतः [अस्ति] । हि मनसा [पुरुषः] कामान् कामयते ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
मन ग्रह है। कामना नामक अतिग्रह उसे पकड़े हुए है, क्योंकि मन से ही इच्छित वस्तुओं की कामना की जाती है।
English meaning
Mind is a grasper. It is seized by the over-grasper, desire, for one desires desirable things through mind.
व्याख्या
मन को केवल निष्पक्ष विचारक न मानकर इच्छा से संचालित शक्ति के रूप में भी रखा गया है। कामना ग्रहण की दिशा निर्धारित करती है।
Explanation
Mind is treated not only as a neutral thinker but as a faculty directed by desire. What is wanted shapes its engagement.
