तस्मादज्ञानसम्भूतं हृत्स्थं ज्ञानासिनात्मनः । छित्त्वैनं संशयं योगमातिष्ठोत्तिष्ठ भारत ॥४-४२॥

अन्वय
भारत, तस्मात् आत्मनः हृत्स्थम् अज्ञानसम्भूतम् एनम् संशयम् ज्ञानासिना छित्त्वा योगम् आतिष्ठ; उत्तिष्ठ ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
इसलिए भारतवंशी अर्जुन, अज्ञान से पैदा अपने हृदय के इस संशय को ज्ञान की तलवार से काटो। योग में स्थित होओ और उठ खड़े होओ।
English meaning
Therefore cut away this doubt in your heart, born of ignorance, with the sword of knowledge. Stand in yoga and rise, descendant of Bharata.
प्रसंग
अध्याय का समापन श्रद्धा, संयम, संशय और विवेक के सम्बन्ध पर होता है। कृष्ण अर्जुन को समझ के साथ कर्म की ओर लौटाते हैं।
सरल व्याख्या
तलवार का रूपक अज्ञान से उपजे संशय को विवेक से काटने का है। अन्तिम आह्वान समझ के बाद उठकर कर्म करने का है।
