अथैनमभिमृशति भ्रमदसि । ज्वलदसि । पूर्णमसि । प्रस्तब्धमसि । एकसभमसि । हिङ्कृतमसि । हिङ्क्रियमानमसि । उद्गीथमसि । उद्गीयमानमसि । श्रावितमसि । प्रत्याश्रावितमसि । आर्द्रे संदीप्तमसि । विभूरसि । प्रभूरसि । अन्नमसि । ज्योतिरसि । निधनमसि । संवर्गोऽसीति ॥ ४ ॥

तब वह मन्थ को छूकर कहता है: “तुम घूमते हुए हो; तुम जलते हुए हो; तुम पूर्ण हो; तुम अचल स्थापित हो; तुम एक सभा हो; तुम उच्चरित हिङ्कार हो; तुम उच्चरित होता हुआ हिङ्कार हो; तुम उद्गीथ हो; तुम गाए जाते हुए हो; तुम सुनाया गया आह्वान हो; तुम प्रत्युत्तर में सुनाया गया आह्वान हो; तुम आर्द्र में प्रदीप्त हो; तुम व्यापक हो; तुम समर्थ प्रभु हो; तुम अन्न हो; तुम ज्योति हो; तुम समापन-स्थान हो; तुम सबको समेट लेने वाले हो।”
English meaning
Then the officiant touches the mash and says: “You are revolving; you are blazing; you are full; you are firmly established; you are a single assembly; you are the sounded him-call; you are the him-call being sounded; you are the Udgitha; you are what is being chanted; you are the call that has been made; you are the answering call; you are kindled in the moist; you are far-extending; you are powerful; you are food; you are light; you are the place of ending; you are the gatherer of all.”
व्याख्या
हिङ्कृत और हिङ्क्रियमान, उद्गीथ और उद्गीयमान जैसे भेद पूर्ण तथा चल रही ध्वनि-क्रिया को अलग रखते हैं। एकसभम् और आर्द्रे संदीप्तम् संक्षिप्त, कठिन बिम्ब हैं; अनुवाद उन्हें खुली व्याख्या के साथ रखता है।
Explanation
Pairs such as a sounded and a sounding him-call distinguish completed from ongoing vocal action. Ekasabham and “kindled in the moist” are compact, difficult images; their literal shape is retained for review.
