महर्षयः सप्त पूर्वे चत्वारो मनवस्तथा । मद्भावा मानसा जाता येषां लोक इमाः प्रजाः ॥१०-६॥

अन्वय
पूर्वे सप्त महर्षयः तथा चत्वारः मनवः मद्भावाः मानसाः जाताः [सन्ति], येषाम् लोके इमाः प्रजाः [सन्ति] ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
पूर्वकाल के सात महर्षि, उनसे पहले के चार और मनु—ये मेरे भाव से, मन से उत्पन्न हुए; संसार की ये प्रजाएँ उन्हीं से चली हैं।
English meaning
The seven great sages of old, the earlier four, and the Manus arose from my mind, sharing my being; from them these populations of the world descended.
