अनुपश्य यथा पूर्वे प्रतिपश्य तथाऽपरे । सस्यमिव मर्त्यः पच्यते सस्यमिवाजायते पुनः ॥ ६ ॥

यथा पूर्वे [आचरन्], अनुपश्य; तथा अपरे [आचरन्ति], प्रतिपश्य । मर्त्यः सस्यम् इव पच्यते; सस्यम् इव पुनः आजायते ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
पहले के लोगों को देखो, और बाद के लोगों को भी उसी प्रकार देखो। मनुष्य अन्न की फसल की तरह पकता और क्षीण होता है, और फसल की तरह फिर जन्म लेता है।
English meaning
Consider those who came before, and consider those who come after. A mortal ripens and passes away like grain, and like grain is born again.
व्याख्या
