तुल्यनिन्दास्तुतिर्मौनी सन्तुष्टो येन केनचित् । अनिकेतः स्थिरमतिर्भक्तिमान्मे प्रियो नरः ॥१२-१९॥

अन्वय
[शत्रौ मित्रे मानापमानयोः समः शीतोष्णसुखदुःखेषु समः सङ्गविवर्जितः], तुल्यनिन्दास्तुतिः मौनी येन केनचित् सन्तुष्टः अनिकेतः स्थिरमतिः भक्तिमान् नरः मे प्रियः [अस्ति] ।

निन्दा और स्तुति को समान मानता है, वाणी में संयमी है, जो मिलता है उसमें सन्तुष्ट है, घर के बन्धन में नहीं बँधा और स्थिर बुद्धि से भक्ति करता है—वह मनुष्य मुझे प्रिय है।
English meaning
who regards blame and praise alike, is restrained in speech, content with what comes, not bound to a dwelling and steady in understanding: that devoted person is dear to me.
