नित्यो नित्यानां चेतनश्चेतनानामेको बहूनां यो विदधाति कामान् । तत्कारणं सांख्ययोगाधिगम्यं ज्ञात्वा देवं मुच्यते सर्वपाशैः ॥ १३ ॥

हिन्दी अर्थ
वह नित्यों में नित्य, चेतनों में चेतन और अकेला होकर बहुतों की कामनाओं के विषयों का विधान करने वाला है। सांख्य और योग से उपलब्ध होने वाले उस कारणरूप देव को जानकर मनुष्य सभी पाशों से मुक्त हो जाता है।
English meaning
Eternal among the eternal and conscious among the conscious, the one provides the objects sought by the many. Knowing that divine cause, accessible through discerning knowledge and contemplative discipline, one is released from every bond.
व्याख्या
सांख्ययोग का अनुवाद विवेकपूर्ण ज्ञान और योग-साधना के रूप में किया गया है; इससे बाद के सांख्य और योग दर्शनों के पूरे विकसित तन्त्र का यहाँ होना सिद्ध नहीं होता। कामान् का विधान भी हर व्यक्ति की हर इच्छा तुरन्त पूरी होने का वादा नहीं है।
Explanation
Sāṃkhya-yoga is rendered through discerning knowledge and contemplative practice without assuming that the verse contains the fully developed later philosophical systems. Providing the objects of desire is also not a promise that every personal wish will be immediately fulfilled.
