मा नस्तोके तनये मा न आयुषि मा नो गोषु मा न अश्वेषु रीरिषः । वीरान् मा नो रुद्र भामितोऽवधीर्हविष्मन्तः सदमित्त्वा हवामहे ॥ २२ ॥

रुद्र, नः स्तोके तनये मा रीरिषः; नः आयुषि मा [रीरिषः]; नः गोषु मा [रीरिषः]; नः अश्वेषु मा [रीरिषः] । भामितः [त्वम्] नः वीरान् मा अवधीः । हविष्मन्तः [वयम्] त्वा सदम् इत् हवामहे ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
हे रुद्र, हमारे छोटे बच्चों, संतानों, आयु, गायों और घोड़ों को हानि न पहुँचाइए। क्रुद्ध होकर हमारे वीरों को मत मारिए। हम हवि लेकर सदा आपको पुकारते हैं।
English meaning
Rudra, do not harm our little children, offspring, lifespan, cattle or horses. In anger do not strike down our strong ones. Bearing offerings, we continually call upon you.
व्याख्या
गाय और घोड़े प्राचीन जीवन की आर्थिक और सामाजिक सुरक्षा के अंग हैं। परम शान्ति की चर्चा के साथ साधारण मानवीय संरक्षण की याचना रखना पाठ के धार्मिक अनुभव की व्यापकता दिखाता है।
