Passage 4.18
English meaning
When darkness is absent, there is neither day nor night, neither being nor non-being; the auspicious One alone remains. That is the imperishable, that is Savitar’s most worthy reality, and from it ancient wisdom has issued.
Explanation
The base yadā’tamaḥ is read as a condition without darkness, not simply primordial darkness. The denial of being and non-being marks the limits of dual categories rather than a casual declaration that nothing matters.
Context
The reality discerned in the heart is now described beyond ordinary oppositions.
