यस्मात्परं नापरमस्ति किंचिद्यस्मान्नाणीयो न ज्यायोऽस्ति कश्चित् । वृक्ष इव स्तब्धो दिवि तिष्ठत्येकस्तेनेदं पूर्णं पुरुषेण सर्वम् ॥ ९ ॥

जिससे परे कोई अन्य नहीं, जिससे छोटा या बड़ा कोई नहीं, वह एक आकाश में स्थिर वृक्ष के समान स्थित है। उसी पुरुष से यह सम्पूर्ण जगत् पूर्ण है।
English meaning
Beyond whom there is nothing further, than whom nothing is smaller or greater, that One stands in the luminous expanse like an unmoving tree. By that Puruṣa this entire world is filled.
व्याख्या
छोटा-बड़ा की विरोधी दिशाएँ सीमित माप को अस्वीकार करती हैं। वृक्ष की स्थिरता का रूपक सर्वव्यापकता के साथ पढ़ना चाहिए, किसी आकाशीय स्थान में कैद आकृति के रूप में नहीं।
Explanation
The opposed scales of smaller and greater reject finite measurement. The stable-tree image belongs with omnipresence, not with a figure confined to one point in the sky.
