पुरुष एवेदँसर्वं यद्भूतं यच्च भव्यम् । उतामृतत्वस्येशानो यदन्नेनातिरोहति ॥ १५ ॥

यत् भूतम्, यत् च भव्यम् [अस्ति], इदम् सर्वम् पुरुषः एव [अस्ति] । उत अमृतत्वस्य ईशानः [अस्ति]; यत् अन्नेन अतिरोहति [तत् अपि पुरुषः एव अस्ति] ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
यह सब पुरुष ही है: जो हो चुका और जो आगे होगा। वह अमृतत्व का भी स्वामी है और उस सबका भी जो अन्न द्वारा बढ़ता तथा प्रकट होता है।
English meaning
The Puruṣa alone is all this, what has been and what will be. He is also lord of immortality and of that which grows and emerges through food.
व्याख्या
अन्न शरीरों की वृद्धि और नश्वर जगत् का आधार है। अमृतत्व के साथ अन्नजन्य वृद्धि रखने से स्थायी और परिवर्तनशील दोनों एक ही व्यापक दृष्टि में आते हैं।
Explanation
Food supports bodily growth and the perishing world. Placing food-dependent increase beside immortality brings enduring and changing existence within one encompassing vision.
