English meaning
Now concerning the embodied self: the lower jaw is the prior form, the upper jaw the latter form, speech the junction, and the tongue the joining agency. So much concerning the embodied self. These are the great conjunctions. Whoever knows these great conjunctions as explained becomes joined with offspring, cattle, the radiance of sacred learning, plentiful food, and the heavenly world.
व्याख्या
वाणी के शारीरिक अवयव आरम्भिक उच्चारण-विज्ञान को इस ध्यान से जोड़ते हैं। सन्धीयते में संहिता के मूल विचार का ही पुनः प्रयोग है: जो सम्बन्ध को जानता है, वह समृद्धि से जुड़ता है। फलश्रुति उस युग के हितों का वर्णन है, सुनिश्चित धन, संतान या स्वर्ग की आधुनिक गारंटी नहीं।
Explanation
The organs of speech connect this contemplation back to the preceding discipline of pronunciation. The verb sandhiyate returns to the central image: knowing conjunction leads to being joined with flourishing. The promised results express the tradition’s values; they are not empirical guarantees of fertility, wealth, or an afterlife.
संदर्भ
पाँचवाँ उदाहरण बोलने वाले शरीर में लौटकर संहिता-उपासना को पूरा करता है। अन्त में ज्ञान का पारम्परिक फल बताया जाता है।
Context
The fifth example returns to the speaking body and completes the conjunction meditation. The passage closes with its traditional promised result.
