यथैव बिम्बं मृदयोपलिप्तं तेजोमयं भ्राजते तत्सुधान्तम् । तद्वात्मतत्त्वं प्रसमीक्ष्य देही एकः कृतार्थो भवते वीतशोकः ॥ १४ ॥

जिस प्रकार मिट्टी से लिपटी धातु की प्रतिमा शुद्ध होने पर तेज से चमक उठती है, उसी प्रकार देहधारी आत्मतत्त्व को स्पष्ट देखकर एकत्व में कृतार्थ और शोकहीन होता है।
English meaning
As a shining metal image covered with clay gleams when thoroughly purified, so the embodied person, clearly seeing the reality of the Self, becomes whole, fulfilled and free from sorrow.
व्याख्या
मिट्टी हटाने पर चमक नई नहीं बनाई जाती; पहले से विद्यमान चमक प्रकट होती है। उसी प्रकार कृतार्थता को स्वयं की वास्तविकता की पहचान से जोड़ा जाता है, बाहरी उपलब्धियों की अनन्त वृद्धि से नहीं।
Explanation
Removing clay reveals a luminosity already present rather than creating it. Fulfillment is thus tied to recognizing one’s reality, not to an endless increase of external achievements.
