यस्तु विज्ञानवान्भवति समनस्कः सदा शुचिः । स तु तत्पदमाप्नोति यस्माद्भूयो न जायते ॥ ८ ॥

यः तु विज्ञानवान् समनस्कः सदा शुचिः भवति, सः तु तत् पदम् आप्नोति, यस्मात् भूयः न जायते ।
हिन्दी अर्थ
जो विवेकपूर्ण, संयत मन वाला और सदा शुद्ध है, वह उस पद को प्राप्त होता है जहाँ से फिर जन्म नहीं होता।
English meaning
One with discerning understanding, a composed mind and consistent purity reaches that goal from which there is no further birth.
व्याख्या
पद स्थान भी हो सकता है और अवस्था भी; इसे किसी भौतिक गन्तव्य तक सीमित नहीं किया गया। पूर्व मन्त्र के विपरीत तीन गुण साथ आते हैं। फिर जन्म न होना इस पाठ में मुक्ति का कथन है, किसी साधना से तत्काल शारीरिक अमरता का वादा नहीं।
Explanation
Pada can indicate a place or a state and is not restricted here to a physical destination. Three qualities appear together in contrast with the previous verse. No further birth expresses liberation in this teaching, not a promise of immediate bodily immortality.
