नित्योऽनित्यानां चेतनश्चेतनानाम् एको बहूनां यो विदधाति कामान् । तमात्मस्थं येऽनुपश्यन्ति धीराः तेषां शान्तिः शाश्वती नेतरेषाम् ॥ १३ ॥

हिन्दी अर्थ
अनित्यों में नित्य, चेतनों की चेतना, वह एक ही अनेकों की कामनाओं की पूर्ति की व्यवस्था करता है। जो विवेकी उसे अपने भीतर स्थित देखते हैं, उन्हीं की शान्ति शाश्वत है, दूसरों की नहीं।
English meaning
The enduring amid the transient, consciousness among conscious beings, the one apportions fulfilment to the many. Those discerning people who see it within themselves have abiding peace, not those who do not.
व्याख्या
एक और अनेक का सम्बन्ध यहाँ आश्रयदाता और आश्रितों की भाषा में भी व्यक्त है। नित्योऽनित्यानाम् को दूसरे ग्रन्थों के नित्यो नित्यानाम् से स्वतः बदलना नहीं चाहिए; चुने हुए साक्षी में अनित्य स्पष्ट है।
Explanation
The one-many relation is expressed through sustainer and dependants as well as inner identity. The chosen witness reads “of the transient”; it should not be silently replaced by the related reading “of the eternal” familiar from other texts.
