अथैकयोर्ध्व उदानः पुण्येन पुण्यं लोकं नयति पापेन पापमुभाभ्यामेव मनुष्यलोकम् ॥ ७ ॥

हिन्दी अर्थ
इनमें से एक नाड़ी के द्वारा ऊपर जाने वाला उदान पुण्य से पुण्यलोक, पाप से पापलोक और दोनों के मिश्रण से मनुष्यलोक में ले जाता है।
English meaning
Through one of these channels, upward-moving udana leads to a fortunate world through meritorious action, to an adverse world through harmful action, and to the human world through both together.
व्याख्या
उदान की भूमिका केवल साँस ऊपर जाने तक सीमित नहीं रखी गई है; उसे कर्मफल से जुड़े अस्तित्व-परिवर्तन का वाहक कहा गया है। मनुष्यलोक को पुण्य-पाप के मिश्रण से जोड़ना इस पाठ की नैतिक ब्रह्माण्ड-कल्पना है।
Explanation
Udana is not restricted here to the upward movement of breath; it carries a transition of existence associated with the consequences of action. Linking human embodiment with mixed merit and harm belongs to the text’s moral cosmology.
